Bhutanese, international Red Cross representatives visit JSW Law

Dean Sangay Dorjee and the faculty and administration of JSW Law welcomed a delegation from the newly-established Bhutan Red Cross Society (BRCS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross.  The visit came two days after the formal inauguration of the BRCS, which coincided with International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.

The meeting focused on ways in which the law school can promote awareness of international humanitarian law and disaster preparedness, and otherwise support the mission of BRCS and the Red Cross.  The Society also donated a large number of books on international humanitarian and human rights law.

Both sides agreed that there is ample opportunity for future collaboration between the law school and the BRCS.  They pledged to explore avenues for JSW Law faculty and students to pursue curricular and extracurricular avenues in support of BRCS’s mission.
