The first cohort of 25 students at JSW Law completed the initial week of their four-week Orientation & Bridging Course today. The week featured a guest lecture from (Mr) Eric Lemelson, the President of the U.S.-based Karuna Foundation, and lectures from various faculty on foundational subjects in law and Bhutanese culture.
“The lengthy Orientation and Bridging Course is designed to prepare our students for the study of law, by imparting basic knowledge and study skills required to succeed in law school,” said (Ms) Sonam Euden, associate dean for student affairs. “We also hope that it will help build a sense of community among the students and between the students and staff.”
During their first year of studies, all students will live and study at the school’s temporary residential campus in Taba, Thimphu.
