Trans-systemic law expert Victor V. Ramraj visits JSW Law

The faculty and students of JSW School of Law were delighted to receive Prof Victor V. Ramraj this week for a series of meetings and lectures.

Prof Victor is professor of law and CAPI Law Chair at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in Canada.  He visited the law school for the purpose of exploring avenues of potential cooperation between Victoria and JSW Law, especially in the area of “trans-systemic” law.

He delivered a talk to the school’s first class of 25 students, titled “Understanding Legal Pluralism: The Multiple Forms and Functions of Law” on Monday afternoon, and a presentation to the school’s faculty on Tuesday, titled “Reflections on Comparative and Trans-Systemic Education.”

Prof Victor also met with JSW Law senior lecturer Nima Dorji, who will begin his Ph.D. studies at University of Victoria in September.
