Prof Dema Lham completes Masters, returns to JSW Law

(Ms) Dema Lham, senior lecturer, re-joined the JSW Law faculty this week, after one year of studies at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.  Prof Dema earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.), with a specialization in criminal law.

Prior to joining JSW Law in 2015, Prof Dema served for nine years as a Senior Legislative Officer in the Secretariat of the National Assembly, the lower house of Bhutan’s Parliament.

“My time in Australia has helped me augment my professional knowledge and skills and attune myself to the changes and developments in the legal domain,” Prof Dema remarked upon her return.  “I am thrilled to be back, and I hope to translate the knowledge and skills I gained in the best possible way.”

Michael Peil, the Vice Dean and chair of the Academic Council, said, “Dema’s return fills out the remainder of our 2017-18 teaching faculty.  With her back, it feels like our ‘first team’ is all back on the pitch.”
