Nima Dorji departs for Doctoral studies

 

(Mr) Nima Dorji, senior lecturer, departed Bhutan to begin two years of studies in residence at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in British Columbia, Canada.  Nima will pursue his Ph.D. in comparative constitutional law, focusing his research on Bhutan’s constitution and its resonance with Bhutan’s traditions and its modern development paradigm, Gross National Happiness.

Nima will return to JSW Law in the summer of 2019, after two years of residential studies in Canada.  During his studies, he will also intern with governmental agencies in British Columbia, present papers, and attend conferences.

Nima will work under the supervision of Prof. Victor Ramraj of the University of Victoria.  Prof. Ramraj visited JSW Law earlier in the year to discuss avenues of cooperation between the two law schools.
