MaryKay Carlson, the chargé d’affairs of the United States Embassy in Delhi, India, visited the administrative and academic campuses of JSW Law today, as part of a larger visit of U.S. officials to Bhutan. She met with Dean Sangay Dorjee to discuss the history and mission of the law school, and later interacted with the student body.
She impressed upon the students the importance of law and lawyers to a young democracy, and reminded them of their historic place as Bhutan’s first class of Bhutanese-trained law students. Ms Carlson also promised to pass along the law school community’s best wishes to the new U.S. Ambassador to India, His Excellency Kenneth Juster.
