The JSW Law community today added its newest teaching faculty member, Assistant Professor Dorji Gyeltshen. Professor Dorji will teach Rigzhung, joining Professors Rinzin Wangdi and Ngawang Lhundrup on the Dzongkha faculty.
Prior to joining JSW Law, Prof. Dorji served as an Associate Professor and program leader in the Dzongkha Department at Royal Thimphu College, from its inception in 2009. He is a specialist in Dzongkha pedagogy and curriculum, with research interests in Buddhist philosophy and education. “Dorji is a welcome addition to our Dzongkha faculty and to our community,” said Dean Sangay Dorjee. “He brings more than a decade of experience in university-level teaching and administration, and a wealth of knowledge in the Dzongkha language, Buddhist religion, and Bhutanese culture.”
Prof. Dorji earned his Bachelor of Arts (1998), Master of Arts (2000), and Doctorate (2003) degrees in Buddhist Philosophy from Ngagyur Nyingma University in Bylakuppee, India, and his Post Graduate Certificate in Education (2005) from Samtse College of Education in Bhutan.
