Four months of student recruiting and admissions culminated with the announcement of the 18 members of JSW Law’s second entering class, the Class of 2023.
Thirteen women and five men will join the JSW Law community in July, bringing the total student population to 43.
The Class of 2023 were selected based upon their Grade XII examination results, their performance on a national Law School Admission Test, and an hour-long interview with the faculty and staff members of the law school’s Admissions Committee.
The students represent 14 of Bhutan’s 58 higher secondary schools, and hail from 11 of Bhutan’s 20 Dzongkhags. The most represented high schools are Damphu Central School in Tsirang, Yangchenphug Higher Secondary School in Thimphu, and Gaselo Central School in Wangduephodrang. Tsirang and Trashigang were the two most-represented home Dzongkhags.
Like their predecessors, the Class of 2023 will begin their studies with a four-week Orientation & Bridging Course before beginning legal studies in earnest at the end of July.
