Prof. Dorji Gyeltshen at the 15th IATS Seminar

Prof. Dorji Gyeltshen and his colleague, Prof. Manuel Lopez Zafra (USA) presented a paper titled “Buddhist Monastic Education in the 21st Century: The Case of Bhutan” on 9th July 2019 at the 15th International Association for Tibetan Studies (IATS) Seminar 2019 in Paris, France.

The seminar is organized collaboratively by the National Institute of Asian Languages and Civilizations (INALCO), the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the École Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE), and the French School of Asian Studies (EFEO).

Professor Dorji shared the ways in which Bhutan is transforming monastic education to face challenges in 21st century.

More than 600 scholars from 50 countries are gathered at the seminar.
