Coinciding with 65th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singe Wangchuck, and to mark the 12th Constitution Day and GNH Day, JSW School of Law (JSW Law) convened a three-day international conference titled “Gross National Happiness and Law” today via videoconference.
The conference involves speakers from across Bhutan as well as from Asia, North America, and Europe, all of whom will attend via videoconference.
Princess Sonam Dechan Wangchuck, the Honourable President of JSW Law, opened the conference this evening with a keynote address. As part of the celebration of this special day, Her Highness formally launched two pioneering JSW Law efforts: the Final Report of the Legal Needs Assessment empirical study and the undergraduate course, “GNH & the Law.”
The former Chief Justice, Dasho Tshering Wangchuk and JSW Law Founding Dean Sangay Dorjee also attended the opening session of the videoconference, along with JSW Law faculty, staff, and students and participants from around the world.
