On 10 May 2016, Sangay Dorjee was appointed Dean of the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law by HRH Ashi Sonam Dechan Wangchuck. Sangay Dorjee joined the Royal Institute of Law (RIL) as the Director in January 2013. Prior to his transfer to the RIL, he was at the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources where he held the positions of the Director of the Department of Human Resources and the Director of the Department of Occupational Standards. Before that, he was with the Ministry of Education where he served as the Assistant Secretary of the Bhutan Board of Examinations, and with the National Technical Training Authority (NTTA) as the Principal of the Royal Technical Institute. He received his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from St. Stephens College, Delhi and Master in Education from Victoria University in Manchester. He is married and has two daughters.
