Please join us for a virtual event on 11 November 2021 to launch the JSW Law Sustainability Fund, a special fundraising campaign to support the law school’s transition to a new campus and the roll-out of new programs for students and staff during challenging times. The one-hour event will feature:
- Keynote on Bhutan’s response to Covid-19 by Her Excellency, Lyonpo Dechen Wangmo, Bhutan’s Minister for Health
- Special guest Eric Lemelson, President of the Karuna Foundation
- Special guest Hugh Verrier, Chairman of White & Case LLP
- Participation of JSW Law Dean and students
This event will be followed over the next several months by webinars featuring exciting aspects of JSW Law work, such as our social enterprise clinic, the project to recover stolen Thangkas, and student arts events to preserve Bhutan’s cultural heritage.
The Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law (JSW Law) prepares exceptional Bhutanese students to become future leaders of the country, with a focus on social justice and responsible stewardship of the environment. As we enter the second year of pandemic-related measures and as JSW Law prepares for an exciting move to a new campus, including a new emphasis on climate change response, we seek to raise US$500,000 designated for operating support to help enable JSW Law work and innovation throughout these challenging times.
